Working on gathering information and prcies at the moment. * Card(s): Going to go for the DLink DWL-520 PCI card to save messing around with pcmcia and the fact that it's know to work with Linux or a GL2422VP 22/11Mbps Wireless LAN PCI Adapter(802.11b+). * Antenna(s): Start with one of those 8dBi Omni-directional antennas from the tib and try my hand at making one out of a pringel can. * Access Point: Probably a DWL-520 running in APHost mode or a GL2422AP-S 22/11Mbps Wireless LAN Access Point (802.11b+) as it will have a SMA connection which will be available from late August 2002. Check out http://www.alloy.com.au/products/wireless.htm for more info on the GL products, they all use the new TI wireless chipset which can get speeds up to 22mbit when talking to other TI chipset wireless products. All their wireless stuff is pretty cheap, and I can get dealer prices which makes it even cheaper. Looking for anyone interested in linking up in the Toorak, South Yarra area or anyone close to (http://melbourne.wireless.org.au/nodes/view.php?id=FJE me), I live on a hill and have a pretty high roof, so I have good LoS.
