YES thats right, it is using an AMP! see the power calculations and

Description:
This node is intended to be a routing 'hub' for other AP's to connect
to. It is now fully operational. It's currently experiencing
occasional power outages, which we hope to have rectified soon. Keep
in mind it is horizontally polarized.
Thanks to my employer http://www.ndpgroup.com.au for financing the
Avaya AP3, and to Interway http://www.interway.com.au for their
assistance with the amplifier.
