Spelling: ParabolicAntenna

Parabolic Antenna [1] are directional. They are ideal for
PointToPoint [2] (Back Bone) links running IBSS [3].

The higher the gain, the smaller the beam width

Typical gain range are 15dbi - 24dbi

It is a common misconception that it's the parabolic dish which
increases the gain of the antenna. Instead, it's the projected
aperture that provides the gain. Therefore, the higher the gain, the
larger the parabolic dish. Bending the parabolic section of the
antenna to be more concave will not increase the antenna's
performance.

Examples of these are GalaxyAntenna [4]

A different approach has emerged from Stan Swan and associates at
Massey (NZ), who have successfully used Chinese cookware and USB WiFi
[5] adaptors to produce highly effective devices that are capable of
several kilometer links. See Stan Swan\'s site [6] for further
details.
