Spelling: RIP

Routing Information Protocol. IGP supplied with UNIX BSD systems. The
most common IGP in the Internet. RIP uses hop count as a routing
metric.

Windows (2000 and XP confirmed) also has RIP [1] functionality, via
the netsh [2] function in the command line.
